Marilyn Manson is now set to stand trial next fall on the claims of sexual assault and more leveled at him by his ex-personal assistant, Ashley Walters. That case, first filed in 2021, cited incidents alleged to have taken place in 2010-2011, while Walters was under Manson‘s employ. Her original complaint made claims of sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual battery, infliction of emotional distress and the violation of several Californian civil codes against the shock rocker.
Since then, the case was dismissed and reinstated several times, primarily due to concerns over the statute of limitations. It was most recently resurrected this past January in light of California passing the AB 250 law. That law newly offered a temporary window of revival for adult survivors of alleged sexual abuse to bypass the standardized statute of limitations usually assigned to most claims.
This past June saw a judge deny Manson‘s attempt to have the case dismissed. Rolling Stone reported today, August 12th, that the case is now set for a November 15th, 2027 jury trial. That date was set during a hearing held today.
Manson‘s lawyer Howard King commented on this decision, offering, “We’re confident the case will never get to trial after the court hears our upcoming motion for summary judgment.”
Manson was the subject of numerous civil lawsuits filed by a multitude of women who came forward against him with allegations of abuse back around 2021. He has since reached a settlement with Esmé Bianco and another unidentified accuser.
A separate case brought forward against him by Ashley Morgan Smithline was withdrawn and recanted. Meanwhile, Bianca Allaine Kyne also filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Manson, alleging incidents which she claimed to have taken place in the 1990s. That latter case appears to still be in motion.
Manson has publicly denied the allegations made against him. While authorities conducted a lengthy investigation into the claims made against Manson, the LADA’s Sex Crimes Division opted to not press charges, with Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman stating in part back in early 2025:
“We have determined that allegations of domestic violence fall outside of the statute of limitations, and we cannot prove charges of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt.”
