Ashley Walters, the former personal assistant of Marilyn Manson (aka Brian Warner) has managed to successfully revive her previously dismissed sexual assault lawsuit against the controversial shock rocker. Citing incidents alleged to have taken place back in August of 2010 to July of 2011 while under his employ, Walters first filed suit against Manson back in 2021. In that complaint she accusing Manson of sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual battery, infliction of emotional distress and the violation of several Californian civil codes.

That suit would later be dismissed in May of 2022 amid concerns over the statute of limitations, before later being appealed in December of 2023. However, this past December saw the suit once again dismissed, with the residing judge citing issues with the statute of limitations and legal concerns regarding whether the delayed discovery was applicable to Walters‘ case, which had claims of repressed memories.

With 2026 bringing in the passing of a new law in California, AB 250, Walters has now successfully managed to revive her suit once again. That law has established a temporary window of revival that enables adult survivors of alleged sexual assault to bring forth their cases that had previously been barred by the statute of limitations.

As such, a follow-up hearing on the case has been scheduled for March 27th. Manson‘s lawyer Howard King told Rolling Stone of this latest development:

Ashley Walters has been given the right to pursue a narrow claim of sexual assault under the newly enacted law, a claim that will not survive the next motion for summary judgment. The undeniable fact is that Mr. Warner never committed any sexual assault.”
