Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers Nine Inch Nails were back onstage today, June 15th, for the first time since November of 2022. The celebrated industrial metal outfit kicked off their ‘Peel It Back World Tour‘ with a sold out show at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, running through a setlist that featured some lesser played tracks, including the first live airings of “Right Where It Belongs“, “Ruiner” (acoustic) and “Piggy” since 2009.

Vessel” was another rare inclusion, being performed for the first time since 2014, albeit with Boys Noize guesting. The latter tour opener also guested on the first performance of “Came Back Haunted” since 2018. A pair of covers made it into the set as well, including one of the Nine Inch Nails offshoot How To Destroy Angels‘ “Parasite“, and the mainstay rendition of David Bowie‘s “I’m Afraid Of Americans“.

No strangers to elaborate stage production, Reznor and co. alternated between an intimate stage surrounded by the audience, and a mainstage draped in projections across fabric and more. The setlist for the night ran as follows:

While rumblings of new material from the outfit being in the wings having circulated for sometime now, the band have been confirmed as the composers for the score to the upcoming ‘TRON: Ares‘ film, due out later this year. That soundtrack is a change of pace for the group’s core duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who have racked up numerous industry accolades for their work scoring film and TV projects under their respective actual names in recent years.
