After Low Ticket Sales Rumors, Drowning Pool Address Their Canceled South American Tour: "The Logistics Weren't Put Together For Us To Get There In Time"

Drowning Pool have addressed the recent cancelation of their planned South American touring this month. Earlier in the week, organizers involved with the seven-date trek reportedly revealed it had been scrapped, citing low ticket sales as the reason.

While the band don’t appear to have publicly addressed that matter with a statement, an interview conducted just days prior to the tour being spiked found the group stating that it was logistics that were preventing them from doing the run. Vocalist Ryan McCombs and guitarist C.J. Pierce spoke with Teaser Talk about the fate of that tour, with Pierce stating [transcribed by theprp.com]:

“We were going to be doing South America. That just got put on hold… I was looking forward to going. Just the timing with it all, I’m hoping that that comes back up towards the end of the year because that’s supposed to be in a week and a half from now, and all the the logistics weren’t put together for us to get there in time. There’s a lot of, you know, again, red tape and stuff like that because we didn’t meet the deadline for it. So, I’m hoping to go back. Love South America.

We really want to play there. I want to go so bad. But yeah, that’s going to be it.”

McCombs added:

“Yeah, we’re definitely pushing towards making it happen. Because I mean, it’s when you’ve been allowed to do this this long, and people have kept you in the game this long, one side of that is it’s very rare that you see something come up on your calendar that you haven’t done before. And that’s there was several countries there that we had never — I know I’d never been to before. So I was really looking forward to that. So we’re definitely pushing towards that.”

Pierce went on to add, “Sorry, South America, we’re trying to get there.”
