Marilyn Manson Announces Canadian Headlining Show

Marilyn Manson has added another headlining show to this forthcoming live return. The shock rock icon is set to headline the Grey Eagle Event Centre in Calgary, Alberta on August 24th. Tickets for the event will be available this Friday, July 05th, with pre-sales to start tomorrow, July 03rd at 10:00am with the code ‘MM2024’.

Manson‘s last proper live concert took place in November of 2019. Back in 2021, the controversial musician, actor, etc. was hit with allegations of sexual assault/misconduct by over a dozen women. That wave of allegations followed in the wake of his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood publicly alleging that he had abused her during their relationship back in the latter half of the aughts.

Several of the women who accused him would go on to file sexual assault/misconduct-related civil lawsuits against him, with those cases thus far having met varying outcomes. While Manson reached settlements in two of those cases (actress Esmé Bianco and a Jane Doe), a separate suit found one of his accusers ultimately recanting her claims, resulting in the case being dropped. The woman at the center of that case, Ashley Morgan Smithline, further went on to allege that she was manipulated by Wood and co. into making her claims against Manson — an allegation which Wood denied.

In light of the initial allegations and legal proceedings, Manson was dropped by his long-time manager, as well as his record label, talent agency and more. While he has more recently aligned with Nuclear Blast for this planned comeback, his legal troubles are far from over.

Still in motion are this sexual assault, etc. suit filed by his ex-personal assistant Ashley Walters, which is set to go to trial on June 02nd, 2025. This suit alleging he sexually assaulted a minor back in the 1990s also remains active. A previously dismissed civil lawsuit against him over a 2019 concert spitting incident was revived in court last November as well. Manson was previously sentenced to 20 hours of community service and a $1,400 fine for that incident.

Manson also has legal proceedings of his own set to go before the courts. In early 2022 he filed a defamation suit against Wood and her associate Ilma Gore, alleging the pair had orchestrated a concerted smear campaign against him involving multiple women. Thus far, many of Manson‘s claims in that suit have been stuck down in court, resulting in Manson having thus far been ordered to pay nearly $500,000 USD of Wood‘s legal fees over the matter.

A number of allegations from Manson‘s defamation suit remain in play however, among them are Wood and Gore gaining unauthorized access to his computer, impersonating him over the internet, and that they were behind a ‘swatting’ call that brought police to his residence.
