Marilyn Manson Ordered To Pay Nearly $327,000 Of Evan Rachel Wood’s Legal Fees In His Ongoing Defamation Suit Against Her

A judge has ordered that Marilyn Manson (aka Brian Warner) pay the majority of his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood‘s legal fees in relation to her defense against certain aspects of the defamation lawsuit Manson filed against her and her associate Ilma Gore back in early 2022.

Rolling Stone report that Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Teresa A. Beaudet has newly ruled that Manson cover $326,956 of Wood‘s legal fees in the ongoing suit. The judge however did agree with Manson‘s legal team that some of the billed hours listed by Wood‘s defense team were too vague, leading to roughly $60,000 of the sum originally being sought by Wood being dropped.

This development follows several claims Manson made against Wood in that defamation suit having been dismissed by the same judge back in May of last year. At that time, the judge asserted that Wood was able to make her allegations of rape and abuse against Manson in light of her First Amendment and litigation privileges. However, certain aspects of Manson‘s suit against the pair remain in play.

Among them are Manson‘s claims that Wood and Gore conspired to hack his computer [Manson‘s original defamation suit also alleged that Manson‘s former personal assistant Ashley Walters used privileged info from her time in his employ to gain access to several of Manson‘s accounts. Walters recently revived her own sexual abuse lawsuit against Manson in December 2023], and impersonate him over the internet. Manson also alleged that Wood and Gore were behind an incident which led to his residence being ‘swatted’ back in February of 2021.

A trial date for the aforementioned remaining claims in Manson‘s suit has been set for May 01st. Since Evan Rachel Wood came forward and publicly accused Manson of abusing her during their past relationship, over a dozen women came forward with separate allegations of abuse against the shock rocker. A number of those allegations went to court, with Manson having reached settlements with actress Esmé Bianco and an unidentified woman last year.

Model Ashley Morgan Smithline‘s suit against Manson was dismissed last year after Smithline opted to recant her accusations. Walters‘ lawsuit remains in play, as does a civil lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe in early 2023. That latter suit alleges Manson sexually assault of a minor in the 1990s.

Manson himself has continued to deny the allegations made against him.
