Marilyn Manson (aka Brian Warner) is facing a new sexual battery assault for an incident that allegedly took place in Dallas, TX back in 1995. The lawsuit, which was filed anonymously by a ‘Jane Doe’, alleges that she was 16-years-old at the time of the incident and also names Manson‘s former labels Interscope Records and Nothing Records as defendants.
Word of this new lawsuit emerges just as Manson‘s glut of sexual assault/misconduct lawsuits had been decreasing. Earlier this month, Manson settled with Esmé Bianco. In 2021 Bianco filed suit against Manson, accusing him of rape, physical abuse and human trafficking.
Model Ashley Morgan Smithline‘s sexual assault lawsuit against Manson was dismissed without prejudice earlier this month. Furthermore, last year saw the sexual assault lawsuit filed against Manson by his ex-personal assistant Ashley Walters dismissed back in May of last year.
Rolling Stone report that this new suit alleges that Manson intentionally sought out underage girls, including the plaintiff, at a Dallas, TX concert back in 1995. It is alleged that Manson had asked the girls in question their age and school grade, while also taking down their home addresses and phone numbers for future contact.
According to the suit, Manson would go on to invite the plaintiff onto his tour bus, where he sexually abused her. The suit claims that the girl in question was 16-years-old at the time (17 is the age of consent in Texas.). The complaint reads:
“While on the tour bus, Defendant Warner performed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon Plaintiff, who was a virgin at the time, including but not limited to forced copulation and vaginal penetration.”
“One of the band members watched Defendant Warner sexually assault Plaintif. Plaintiff was in pain, scared, upset, humiliated and confused. After he was done, Defendant Warner laughed at her. … Then Defendant Warner demanded Plaintiff to ‘get the fuck off of my bus’ and threatened Plaintiff that, if she told anyone, he would kill her and her family.”
The plaintiff further alleges that a crew member gave her a 1-800 number and a password which the Manson and the band used for future hookups. She alleges that Warner further kept in contact with her online and through the phone following their first encounter.
She alleges that Manson took to ‘grooming’ her through those means of communication, inviting her to another concert in New Orleans, LA where he allegedly sexually assaulted her again. She was still 16 at the time, also under the age of consent in Louisiana.
While she kept in contact with Manson, it is stated that when she turned 18, she began dating Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna. It is then alleged that an unspecified band member encouraged her to attend a 1999 Manson concert, which led to her joining up with Marilyn Manson on the road for four weeks, upon which he would “groom, harass, and sexually abuse” her amidst a culture of copious drug intake.
It is further claimed that Manson would continue this behavior on the road, while also emotionally manipulating the plaintiff into remaining with him, grooming and systematically isolating her from her family and friends. The suit goes on to allege:
“Defendant Warner often coerced Plaintiff to have sex with him and other band members or his assistant at the same time. Defendant Warner controlled what Plaintiff could do, who could touch Plaintiff, and who he wanted Plaintiff to be with sexually, all while providing Plaintiff with drugs.”
It is stated in the suit that Manson would belittle the plaintiff in the company of others, using racial slurs and body shaming her, while showing compassion for her in private. The plaintiff is suing Manson for sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and more.
Manson‘s labels at the time Interscope Records/Nothing Records were named for allegedly turning a blind eye to Manson‘s alleged behavior, with the suit stating: “defendants Interscope and Nothing Records were aware of Defendant Warner’s practice of sexually assaulting minors, and aided and abetted such behavior.”
The plaintiff is seeking damages to be determined via a trial. One of the plaintiff’s attorney’s, Jeff Anderson, stated to Rolling Stone of this complaint:
“This suit by this survivor is a giant step in bringing light and heat to an industry that has been hiding perils in plain sight. It’s time to face the music. New laws give survivors the time to take real action for justice and protection. Powerful new laws in New York and California give adult survivors the chance to take legal action against predators and those that protect and profit from them.
We are grateful to the survivors and so many others who now align with us to expose the predators and those in the music industry that have … permitted, promoted, and profiteered from his violence against the vulnerable.”
Further details on this latest suit can be found over at Rolling Stone. At the moment, Manson currently faces another sexual assault lawsuit filed anonymously against him in 2021.
Over a dozen women came forward against Manson in the wake of his his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood publicly accusing him of abusing her. Wood went public with her allegations in February of 2021.
While there’s no comment yet on this latest suit, Manson‘s attorney Howard King has told Rolling Stone of this new suit that his client, “does not know this individual and has no recollection of ever having met her 28 years ago. He certainly was never intimate with her.”
He went on to label her claims as being a “fabricated story”, offering that, “even the most minimal amount of scrutiny reveals the obvious discrepancies in her ever-shifting stories as well as her extensive collusion with other false accusers … Brian will not submit to this shakedown – and the courts won’t fall for it either.”
Manson has continued to deny the allegations made against him. In March of 2022 He fired back with a defamation suit against Evan Rachel Wood and her apparent partner Illma Gore.
In that suit he alleges that Wood and Gore orchestrated a conspiracy against him to intentionally defame him. He claims that the duo coaxed and manipulated several women into coming forward against him with similar allegations of sexual assault.
That suit is still pending, with Manson having previously posted his entire complaint online here.
