Very much loving how every hates this tour….and yet it will be the biggest tour of the winter. Have fun in the underground with all of your bands that sound exactly alike and have no real sound of their own. There are a couple of exceptions to that comment, but very few. The fact is, is that fans of Hard Rock and metal have been waiting for this tour for a while. These bands all have a sound of their own that can’t be duplicated. It’s easy to duplicate these metalcore screamo bands. Contrary to what some belive, these bands definitely do NOT do exactly the same thing every time (listen to Disturbed’s “The Infection” compared with “Violence Fetish”) 10 years apart, and still both fantastic songs. Disturbed has shown some real musical growth, while maintaining their sound’s integrity. There’s a huge difference between “It sounds like recycled Disturbed” and “It sounds like Disturbed.” The second one is the true one. Not to mention all of the bands on this tour have an amazing live show. Great tour! Disturbed Rules!

“…and yet it will be the biggest tour of the winter.”

That just means there’s a lot more gullible idiots out there who listen to what rock radio tells them to listen to.

“Have fun in the underground with all of your bands that sound exactly alike and have no real sound of their own.”

Ignorance must be bliss. I’ll take your Disturbed and raise you Isis, Between the Buried and Me, Mastodon, Coalesce, Meshuggah, Unearth, Melvins, Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, Kylesa, The Chariot, Shrinebuilder, Candiria, Mouth of the Architect, Cave In,…all straight from the underground, all leaps and bounds better than Disturbed in songwriting ability and musical talent. Please think before you speak.

“These bands all have a sound of their own that can’t be duplicated.”

Whatever rock you’ve been hiding under, it’s time to come out and join the real world. Korn spawned umpteen sound-alike bands, some that could easily be argued who did what Korn did, but much better.

      “Disturbed Rules!”

No. No they don’t. Now go turn your radio off and find music for yourself for once.

Hell yeah! I knew I’d stir it up! Goddamn, I love how people automatically rate success with failure. If a band’s mainstream, they must be awful, right? I will agree with you on ONE band, and that’s Meshuggah. Their “Chaosphere” album was brilliant, but they’ve been around for a lot longer than these jokes like Dillinger Escape Plan. Please tell me….what is the difference between Chimaira, Between the buried and me, and Hatebreed? Not a thing. Or what about All that remains, Unearth and As I lay dying? Still nothing. It’s all bang on the drums a lot and see how many diffrent riffs we can throw into a “song” until it makes no sense! Better yet, lets just scream like dying vultures over the music. I’m not saying simplicity is good, but neither is nonsense. There are very few underground bands that have separated themselves from the bullshit. Meshuggah being one. Threat Signal being another. Shadows Fall is kind of hit and miss. I’m not sure if Fear Factory is considered ubderground, but they’ve always been fantastic – the point being that there are exceptions here and there. Bands like Slipknot, Pantera, KsE (their later stuff) Tool and Fear Factroy all know how to actually write songs, and good ones. Disturbed has elements from all types of rock and metal, and use all to make great songs. I guess I stooped to your level here by not actually commenting on the post in the comment panel. It’s not a chatroom or forum. But hey, I felt I had to clarify. By the way, I don’t listen to much radio. I DO listen to what I listen to, as do you. That’s my opinion on things, you have yours. I’m just saying I’ve noticed how there’s a bad trend in metal lately, and it’s all about sounding like everyone else. Disturbed and KoRn sound like nobody but themselves, and that’s a great thing. This tour will have some excellent production, and I can’t wait to see the show they put on. Here it is again….Disturbed Rules!

    • @Metalhead27 – I don’t hate Disturbed, but you’re terrible at picking examples to illustrate your point. You obviously haven’t listened to much Chimaira, BTBAM, Hatebreed, ATR, Unearth, and As I Lay Dying, because you’re laughably full of shit.

Gotta love how I’m “full of shit” for having an educated opinion. Just so ya know: I’ve had friends burn me cd’s or I’ve downloaded cd’s from all of these bands, just because I was curious. Better yet, I’ve seen all of these bands ATLEAST once, while they were opening for someone of a much higher caliber. (Examples being Ozzfest or Mayhemfest) So, yes, I’ve listened to my fair share of all six of those bands. Hatebreed has a cool riff here and there, but that’s about it. The point is: they all sound the same! But hey, thanks for reading. Again, looking forward to this incredible tour, because I wont have to sit through a ton of mediocrity to get to the good stuff. Oooohhh yeah.

    • 1.) I agree with Metalhead27! Well said! “Metalcore screamo bands” they do sound alike! 2.) I saw Hatebreed at the Fear Farm in Phoenix (10/23/10) and I was a bit disappointed. I have 12 songs from the setlist on my ipod and every song sounds great but after 2 or 3 songs they all sound the same. 3.) Also saw All That Remains there, great performance. They are my new go to when I’m working out. 4.) I hate how your not metal enough if you don’t spend all day searching through obscure underground bands. Sorry but I have a life. Stop being metal snobs!
