Baltimore, MD hardcore band End It‘s official Facebook page appears to have have been taken offline. the previously live URL for the page, facebook.com/EndItBCHC, currently displays a content unavailable error as of press time. The group’s Instagram remains active however.
End It have found themselves under much scrutiny this week in the wake of their infamous banana man incident this past weekend. During a live show opening for Terror and more in Toronto, ON, the band’s vocalist Akil Godsey put a bounty on a fan in the audience that was wearing a banana costume. Godsey offered up End It‘s setlist for the show that night as a reward to whoever tore apart the costume of the banana-clad fan.
The audience were quick to act, with multiple fellow concertgoers quickly tearing apart the costume of the fan. As the fan in question would later reveal on social media, he had been frequenting shows in banana costumes for some time now, and this was the first time he had encountered such hostility at the direction of a band.
End It have remained quiet on the situation publicly, though yesterday (June 09th) saw the group mysteriously absent from the announcement of a European tour with Hatebreed and Life Of Agony that they had previously been scheduled to open.
By now, countless takes on the banana man incident have littered comment sections, social media and more, with various artists even chiming in on the matter. Today, June 10th, Escuela Grind offered a free gift to the first five people dressed as a banana to attend their show tonight at the Pitcher in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Canadian punk rockers The OBGMs, who hail from Toronto, meanwhile took to social media yesterday, June 09th, the voice their support for the banana man in question, having encountered him prior. That outfit shared the below footage of him stage diving at one of their past shows. The band said alongside that clip:
“Apparently, our BANANA MAN friend had a messed up experience at show in our city.
