Foreign Film, a post-rock outfit anchored by Will Haven guitarist Jeff Irwin, as well as the latter’s drummer Mitch Wheeler, guitarist Sean Bivins and bassist Adrien Contreras, have released their debut album, “A Love Letter“. Irwin served as the nucleus for the project, later going on to enlist his aforementioned Will Haven bandmates to join him. The roster additions didn’t stop there however, as the band went on to add pianist/keyboardist Robin Florkin, guitarist Rylan Kerr and vocalist Tami Taracena as well.

Longtime fans of Will Haven will likely catch the reference hidden in the band’s name, as “Foreign Film” was also the title of a track on the Sacramento, CA sludgy metalcore band’s 1997 debut album “El Diablo“. As for his vision with Foreign Film, Irwin relayed the following of this project.

“After two years of unhindered creativity, we are excited to share that experience with the world. A Love Letter is full of emotions, heartbreak, loss, reconciliation, and new beginnings, from start to finish. We hope everyone enjoys the ride as much as we did in creating it.”

Below you can take in a video for the song “Somnolence“, which was shot with director Devon Whitaker. A record release show will take place next Friday, June 19th, at Goldfield Trading Post in Roseville, CA. Simon Says will also be on that bill.
