The Deftones look to have chosen the title track to their new album “Diamond Eyes” to serve as the first single from it. The song is presently slated to arrive at radio on March 30th, while the album will land in stores on May 18th.

    Delightful.
I wonder if they’ll go down the super-ridiculous deluxe edition route, eg, Demon Hunter, Dillinger Escape Plan, Chimaira…and pretty much everyone these days. God there are some stupid, waste of money packages. I reckon the record company’s/bands are sitting there laughing their asses off at how many suckers there are out there that actually spend $100s on useless shit.

So “Rocket Skates” wasn’t the single? Does this mean that somehow “Diamond Eyes” will manage to be even more repetitious than RS is?

Be Quiet And Drive is even more repetitive and is seen as one of the best Deftones songs. ;)

Since when have the Deftones been progressive? Stop whining about the repetitive nature of their songs. You either like them, or you don’t. Fuck I hate how people whine about that shit.

@Ganglor – I consider it more hypnotic. Sure, you’re entitled your opinion, but..don’t be so damn cynical. ;)
Personally, I think it’s a killer track. I haven’t heard Stef riffing like that since ATF.

@Rimward, Aries Veil, Surly – They became progressive when they released White Pony. And while I like the Deftones, I just want/expect a little more from them now. Because If you don’t push yourself artistically then…well…you’re Nickelback.

Okay, fair enough Ganglor. But what in YOUR opinion do you think they could do to push themselves artistically? A ‘repetitive’ riff is far from being indicative of that fact. That’s a pretty shallow assessment. And to even put them in the same league as Nickelback! Oh…no….what is the world coming to!? hehe. So, what more do you want from them? A nine minute Part I, II & III magna opus? I’m not having a go at you by any means, I’m just curious. Like I’ve said, you are entitled to your opinion. I know, how nice of me eh? ;)
