VIMIC‘s upcoming tribute set to their late drummer Joey Jordison will feature yet another drummer behind the kit in place of the late Slipknot co-founder. That upcoming show will be taking place at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, CA on October 03rd. Funds raised at the event will be put towards the Joey Jordison Charitable Fund. That non-profit aims to put drums in the hands of students in Iowan school districts in honor of Jordison‘s legacy.

Ash Pearson (3 Inches Of Blood, Revocation, etc.) will be stepping up behind the kit at that upcoming show, apparently sharing the seat with the previously announced Luana Dametto of Crypta fame. VIMIC stated:

“We’re bringing the heat for our album release show — and it doesn’t get heavier than this. Joining us behind the kit as the main drummer is none other than Ash Pearson — the beast behind the drums for 3 Inches Of Blood, Revocation, and Zimmers Hole. Ash brings the kind of intensity that levels stages — and we’re stoked to have him bring it to VIMIC for this special night. Don’t miss it. This one’s going to be brutal.”

Pearson offered:

Joey Jordison first came to my attention in 1999. I had been drumming for about a year and was at that impressionable age where I was collecting my heavy metal drumming heroes and crafting my musical identity. Joey quickly became one of my earliest drumming influences. I would listen to Slipknot in class while doing my school work, constantly, and give my headphones to some of my classmates and show them, ‘Listen to this crazy band I just discovered!’ I learned so much from listening to his drumming. In that way, he was my earliest and most significant teacher.”

He added:

Joey got us on a bunch of Slipknot shows as openers after that and we also toured together on Mayhem Fest while he was drumming for Rob Zombie. I was fortunate to have lots of time to be around him and yet it still didn’t seem like enough. I feel grateful to be part of this concert in celebrating one of the most influential metal drummers to ever live. Thank you VIMIC, thank you Joey and the Jordison family.”

After being shelved for a numerous years, VIMIC have been crowdfunding the upcoming release of their 2018 debut album “Open Your Omen“.
