A new track from VIMIC titled “Parasite Persona” has received its online premiere, arriving as the final advance single from the supergroup’s long-awaited album “Open Your Omen“. This song isn’t exactly an unknown quantity to more involved fans of the band, having been performed live as far back as 2016.

After being shelved for nearly a decade, “Open Your Omen” is finally set to see the light of day on October 03rd, following a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $100,000 to get it out.

Vocalist Kalen Chase said of this track:

“The music of ‘Parasite Persona‘ is a combination of violent mania and claustrophobic oppression. It presses into your temples and then throws you off of a cliff. When I first heard it, the lyrical theme hit me like a sledgehammer. It’s a not-so-gentle musing about complete societal, social and spiritual breakdown. As a music fan, sometimes I don’t want to listen to peaceful protest songs, or hopeful songs, or love songs. Sometimes, I wanna dive into the darkness and despair so that I can come out the other side. In summation, ‘Parasite Persona‘ is heavy as fuck.”

Originally completed back in 2016, “Open Your Omen” is now seeing the light of day thanks in part to the family of the band’s late drummer Joey Jordison (ex-Slipknot, etc.), who have given the project their blessing.

Furthermore, a benefit show raising funds for the Joey Jordison Charitable Fund will ring in the album’s October 03rd release. That live event will take place at the The Teragram Ballroom with a number of guest drummers lined up. Among those set to fill-in for the late Jordison are Revocation‘s Ash Pearson, Crypta‘s Luana Dametto,10-year-old drumming prodigy Caleb Hayes and Chris Williams (Accept).
