The song “In Your Shadow” will soon be meeting a release from VIMIC‘s long-shelved debut album “Open Your Omen“. That record is finally set to arrive in the coming months following a successful Kickstarter campaign. Originally written and recorded around 2016-2017, a series of setbacks and personal tragedies, including the death of the album’s co-producer Kato Khandwala in a motorcycle accident, and the untimely passing of their drummer Joey Jordison (ex-Slipknot, etc.) in 2021, found the album set aside.
“In Your Shadow” has been earmarked for an August 08th premiere (pre-save) and was originally penned in tribute to late Type O Negative vocalist/bassist Peter Steele. However, the meaning behind the track has since shifted towards also being a tribute to Jordison in the wake of his death.
Open Your Omen” is finally set to arrive on October 03rd, with a live release show intended to raise funds for The Joey Jordison Charitable Fund set to be held the same day at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles, CA.
In addition to special guests, that celebratory set from the band will find Revocation‘s Ash Pearson, Crypta‘s Luana Dametto, and 10-year-old drumming prodigy Caleb Hayes taking on the drumming duties.
