Kuma's Corner Pull Disturbed Burger Promotion Citing "The Discovery Of Recent Events"

Multi-platinum nü-metal/alternative metal band Disturbed have apparently proven too controversial for long-running metal-associated burger joint Kuma’s Corner. Based out of Disturbed‘s hometown of Chicago, IL, the Indianapolis, IN location of the restaurant chain have pulled a promotional burger and cocktail event built around the band and their upcoming April 09th concert in the city. In a statement shared over this past weekend, the IN location of Kuma’s Corner stated:

“After the discovery of recent events, we here at Kuma’s Corner Indy have decided to pull the Disturbed burger and cocktail promotion scheduled to run this weekend. We sincerely apologize this oversight on our end and the values expressed by this band are not a representation of Kuma’s as a brand. We are using this as an opportunity to expand our research further for future band collaborations. Thank you to our loyal customers for bringing these concerns to our attention.”

While the exact reason is not specified and comments on the post have been disabled, it is suspected that Disturbed vocalist David Draiman‘s unwavering support for Israel may have proven to be problematic for the burger chain. Draiman, who holds direct familial ties to Israel, remains politically outspoken on his support for the nation on his social media accounts.

Last year saw Draiman stir up controversy when he signed artillery shells with an expletive directed towards Hamas during a trip to Israel. Those armaments were expected to be used by the Israel Defense Forces in the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Disturbed‘s only other ‘recent’ controversy saw them allegedly accidentally damage several Chicago Bulls championship banners with their pyro during a hometown show. Disturbed‘s 25th anniversary touring for their debut album “The Sickness” will continue throughout the year, hitting the following cities:
