While we’ve yet to receive official clarity in the reported firing of turntablist Sid Wilson from Slipknot, speculation over the matter continues. TMZ first reported that Wilson had been ‘permanently’ ejected from the band on July 31st. Slipknot guitarist Jim Root followed that news with this cryptic post, cautioning fans to not believe everything they read and urging them to wait for more information.
While there’s yet to be any official word from either Wilson or Slipknot on his status, TMZ doubled down on their story, claiming several days later that Wilson‘s dismissal came about due to his treatment of his bandmates. That same day (August 03rd) saw a series of posts seemingly calling out Wilson shared online by his ex-fiancée Kelly Osbourne.
While the situation remains murky, Wilson at least identified himself as a member of Slipknot during his public appearance serving as a co-host of The World Scratch Invitational this week. You can see him do just that in the below at that competition, during which he introduced himself as follows:
“What’s up ya’ll? Sid, DJ Starscream/#0, from the world famous Slipknot, how ya’ll doing tonight?”
