95-year-old ‘Star Trek‘ icon William Shatner appears to have let slip that he’ll be playing next year’s ‘Coachella‘ festival with his new heavy metal band The *uckers. Shatner and his daughter Melanie were recent guests on CNN, letting the thus far unannounced booking slip.

Shatner has been working on a heavy metal record titled “What The F Is Heavy Metal” for an upcoming release, having enlisted an array of heavy metal and rock royalty for it, including members of Judas Priest, Black Label Society, Scorpions and more.

Shatner‘s live backing band is expected to feature guitarist Marcus Nand, guitarist Britt Lightning (Vixen), bassist Phil Soussan (Ex-Ozzy Osbourne/Billy Idol, etc.) and drummer Fred Aching (Powerflo, Fraxures, etc.) when he makes his live debut at this year’s September 20th stop of the annual ‘Riot Fest‘ in Douglass Park in Chicago, IL.

The 2027 edition of ‘Coachella” will take place April 09th-11th and April 16th-18th at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA next year.
