Members of Swedish melodic death metal outfits Dark Tranquillity, The Halo Effect and The Crown will be performing at a memorial concert for the late At The Gates, Disfear, etc. vocalist Tomas “Tompa” Lindberg in December. Lindberg, a melodic death metal legend himself, passed away in September of this year following a battle with cancer. He was 52-years-old.
This upcoming concert will benefit the Swedish Cancer Society via the Gardens Of Grief fund. It will be held
December 06th at the Monument in Gothenburg, Sweden. Organizers of the event stated:
‘November 14th marked 30 years of At The Gates’ genre-defining Slaughter of the Soul. Sadly, Tomas “Tompa” Lindberg, the voice behind this timeless album, passed away from cancer on September 16th.
To honour his legacy, we invite you to a tribute night on December 6th. All ticket proceeds will go directly to Cancerfonden and the Gardens of Grief fund created by Elis Markskog of Malmö Massacre.
Special guests and friends — Dark Tranquillity, The Crown, and The Halo Effect — will perform in celebration of Tompa’s lasting influence and extraordinary life.
R.I.P. Tompa Lindberg.
Please note: This is a celebration of Tompa’s legacy, not full-set concerts. The goal is simply to gather friends, fans, and family to honour our friend.’
