OTTTO‘s new track “Sweaty Pool” has just arrived and finds them joined by a veteran of the desert rock scene. Mondo Generator‘s Nick Oliveri, formerly of Queens Of The Stone Age and Kyuss fame, guests on this song, which is also the title track to OTTTO‘s upcoming new EP. Tye Trujillo, bassist for Suicidal Tendencies and son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, is a founding member of OTTTO. That aforementioned EP will be arriving on November 28th as part of this year’s Black Friday Record Store Day event.
Tye commented of the EP as a whole:
“This EP represents us entering a new chapter, with every track taking a different approach. It shows the diversity of dynamics we have. We’re looking forward to sharing our music with the world and can’t wait to play these tunes live.”
Oliveri meanwhile spoke of his contribution, offering:
“Sweaty Pool is a crushing song that came together musically by the kick-ass, metal-driven heavy rock band OTTTO. These younger bros are great at their craft—individually and collectively—so when I was asked to write some lyrics and sing on one of the new tracks, it was a no-brainer.”
Tye added:
“I think this track shows how the universe works in an interestingly cool way. I grew up heavily influenced by Nick’s music, and years later here we are collaborating with him. Working with Nick is so legendary. It’s truly an honor—he’s a huge inspiration to me. The world isn’t ready for this track.”
