The set times for tomorrow’s (July 05th) ‘Back To The Beginning‘ sendoff for Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne have been revealed and indicate that marathon sets for the monumental event are not on the menu. Roughly each band is expected to perform around 3-4 songs, include Osbourne and Sabbath themselves. The average set time for the featured artists and included supergroup pairings clock in at around 30 minutes. Disturbed vocalist David Draiman, who will be playing with one of the covers supergroups, shared the below breakdown of the day’s planned events:

Zakk Wylde, a longtime bandmate of Osbourne, recently stated that each band performing would be playing 2-3 of their own songs, along with a cover of Sabbath (or possibly Osbourne.)
In a bid to accommodate the frequent set changeovers, a rotating stage setup will be employed to mitigate downtime. Booked as a live farewell for Black Sabbath‘s classic lineup, as well as the touring career of Osbourne, the event will be held at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK, with a portion of the proceeds to go to Cure Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
Performers announced for the event include:
Black Sabbath
Ozzy Osbourne
Metallica
Guns N’ Roses
Slayer
Tool
Pantera
Gojira
Halestorm
Alice In Chains
Lamb Of God
Anthrax
Mastodon
Rival Sons
A pair of all-star covers sets spearheaded by Rage Against The Machine‘s Tom Morello are also scheduled, with the participants expected to pay tribute to the works of Sabbath and Ozzy. Confirmed performers include:
Andrew Watt
Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins)
Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
Danny Carey (Tool)
David Draiman (Disturbed)
David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth)
Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses)

The sold-out show will be livestreamed across the internet via backtothebeginning.com. Meanwhile, despite Wylde‘s hopes for more Sabbath and Osbourne shows to come, Sharon Osbourne, wife and manager of Ozzy and co., has confirmed to loudersound.com that this is the final planned show for Ozzy. When asked if it was really going to be the end, she replied:
“One thousand per cent. Everything that Ozzy’s ever wanted to do, he’s done. Every place he’s ever wanted to go. He’s just had an incredible life. He’s done. Literally, after this we’re going to go home and shut the door.”
When asked if that meant he was also retiring from music as well, she added:
“He likes going and playing on other people’s tracks. He enjoys it. So he won’t give up recording.”
We are honored to take part in this amazing event celebrating the legacy & music of the legendary Black Sabbath! See you tomorrow at #backtothebeginning
Happy 4th of July to our fans in America ????
