Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson has spoke a bit about his forthcoming new solo studio album that is expected out in 2027. While it’s not necessarily an extension of his mixed media endeavor ‘The Mandrake Project‘, it does at least have a tenuous tie. Dickinson spoke of the project recently with VSXproject, stating in part:
“I’ve got a new record coming out next year, new solo album. It’s kind of standalone. There’s one song that has a bit of something to do with ‘Mandrake‘. Now, the album is heavy as shit. I’m not digging into ‘Mandrake‘. I think ‘Mandrake‘ has a life now on a comic book level, so it can just go on the basis of story and everything else. I don’t need to associate music with it unless it’s a really good idea.”
Recording sessions for this new effort took place this past January/February, with some of the sessions being held at Dave Grohl‘s Studio 606.
