Marilyn Manson has made his musical comeback, launching his first new song since his career was forcibly paused by allegations of sexual assault leveled against him by numerous women. This single — the multi-platinum shock rocker’s first since 2020 — arrives through his new label home of Nuclear Blast.
A music video for it was shot with director Bill Yukich and is available below. Manson himself said of the track:
“‘As Sick As The Secrets Within‘ is a personal look into my life & I’m proud to be able to share my art and vision with you.”
This track, and a spate of summer touring, are Manson‘s first steps towards attempting to relaunch his career, which came to a screeching halt in February of 2021 when his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood publicly accused him of abuse. Over a dozen women soon followed with claims of a similar nature, leading to Manson being dumped by his manager, label, talent agent and more. Manson has publicly denied the allegations made against him.
Since then he has remained relatively absent from the spotlight up until now. While several women who made sexual assault claims against him filed civil lawsuits, a number of them have now been resolved, either by settlement, or in the case of one suit, dropped.
He still has numerous allegations to face in court however, along with an ongoing defamation suit he filed against Wood and her associate. There’s also the matter of a revived suit regarding his 2019 concert spitting incident to contend with as well.
