Ministry (With A Returning Paul Barker) Are Working On Their Final Album

It’s once again the beginning of the end for industrial metal legends Ministry. As band ringleader Al Jourgensen promised earlier this year, the group have now commenced work on what is being billed as the final Ministry studio album.

That record is a full circle moment in a way, as it finds Jourgensen reuniting with Paul Barker. The latter multi-instrumentalist was a key member of the outfit during the height of their success from 1986 through to 2003.

Speaking to Rolling Stone a month or two ago on what they’ve been cooking up, Jourgensen stated:

“I just heard some of [Paul‘s] ideas. What Ministry is doing now is kind of like arena rock — it’s just much more simple and guttural — where Barker is much more ethereal and it’s more like a Brian Eno–type. So the two styles combined is what makes MinistryMinistry.’ What he played me the other day was just extraordinary.”
