Trapt vocalist/guitarist Chris Taylor Brown reportedly has a theory regarding his band recently being replaced on this year’s ‘Louder Than Life‘ festival. Both his multi-platinum outfit and Des Rocs were replaced by Silent Planet and UnityTX on that bill per an announcement made by the festival yesterday, April 10th.
The festival’s organizers didn’t indicate any reasoning behind the lineup change, only stating that they were ‘sad’ to see both of the aforementioned bands go.
Numerous feuds with other bands and individuals, along with his numerous polarizing political statements and opinions, made Chris Taylor Brown a lightning rod for controversy on social media over the past few years. Some his actions and comments have seen him suspended or banned on several platforms, most notably with Twitter dumping him in 2020 over his comments on pedophilia.
Upon first being announced for this year’s edition of the aforementioned festival in February of this year, Chris Taylor Brown took to Truth Social to vent on several individuals who had apparently been seeking to organize a campaign to have his band removed from the bill. Brown addressed this apparent latest campaign against his band in a February 25th post that social media platform:
“So Trapt being invited to play Louder Than Life festival in Louisville in Sept made some extreme leftist troll’s heads explode 😂 How pathetic are these people? I wonder how many of these accounts who run these ops are paid by the US govt in some way? All along the media (govt propaganda mouthpiece) has tried to “destroy trapt” after 2020 and they have failed miserably. We went from 5 million monthly listeners to over 8 million now, 150 million plus streams a year for 2 years in a row and about 250 shows since early 2022. Shows have been amazing! Let’s hope the people at Louder Than Life stay strong in the face of these lying trolls and their operation…”
“Pretty sure Louder Than Life booked the band just to virtue signal by taking us off. As you can see the entire music industry along with the biggest social media companies in the world are doing their best to hurt the band.
Like I’ve been saying, it’s what Trapt does despite the treatment we get from the industry and many promoters who had no problem booking the band before I went public with my support for Trump and my political/social views. It’s all about the music now, has been for well over a year, but once you disagree with the mainstream media industry, of which the entertainment industry is a huge part of, they will stop at nothing to try and hurt you. I’m sure all of you can see that by now.
Even with this treatment, trapt streaming is up to 8 million listeners a month across all platforms, from 5 mil in 2020 and we love being able to post such great footage of the shows we are doing all over our social media pages. See you out on the Parental Advisory Tour with Josey Scott Band (original singer of Saliva) Adema Tantric and One Day Alive May 2 to June 2. We’ll be hitting the rest of the country in August and again in October and November with Smile Empty Soul.”
