Canadian alternative metal sensations Spiritbox are among several artists who recently found themselves facing backlash from their fans. The ire emerged after the bands agreed to take part in Falling In Reverse‘s summer tour.
Fellow support bands on that trek, Ice Nine Kills, Underoath and more, have also faced heated criticism on social media for signing on for that tour. Per the various complaints lodged on social media, the outcry is due in part to past allegedly problematic behavior by Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke, while other fans have taken issue with Crown The Empire being on the tour.
Crown The Empire‘s guitarist/vocalist Brandon Hoover was publicly accused of domestic violence last year. Both Hoover and the band officially denied those allegations via a pair of statements issued last month. Radke himself would publicly show support for Hoover and Crown The Empire last month as well, sharing various ‘evidence’ which he claimed to help refute the allegations against Hoover.
As a show of his support, Radke further went on to invite Crown The Empire to take part in select dates of Falling In Reverse‘s newly announced summer headlining tour.
Spiritbox in particular were being scrutinized for being booked for that upcoming run, seemingly due to their vocalist Courtney LaPlante‘s purported past comments about consent and accountability in the scene.
While there’s been no official announcement that Spiritbox have withdrawn from the trek, it’s worth noting that the group have just recently pulled all of the posts announcing their involvement in the Falling In Reverse tour from their social media. The dates for the trek are also currently not listed via their official website, spiritbox.com.
There has not yet been a follow-up clarification as to why said posts were pulled. Per the announcement earlier this week, Falling In Reverse‘s summer tour with Ice Nine Kills will run as follows.
