Australian progressive metalcore group Northlane have just unveiled a batch of new updates that have wide-reaching effects for their immediate plans. First up, production delays have seen the release of the band’s seventh studio album “Anemoia” delayed from October 30th to November 27th. Their planned listening party in Melbourne, Australia has since been adjusted to November 20th.

Additionally, the group’s guitarist/vocalist Josh Smith has been dealing with chronic health issues, which according to a newly issued statement, require “immediate intervention”. In light of his rehabilitation for that, he’ll be unable to travel or perform, leading the group to reschedule their Australian and New Zealand touring plans to May of 2027. Previously purchased tickets will remain valid at the new shows, which remain pending as of press time.

It’s not all bad news however, as outfit have just issued a brand new single from “Anemoia” by the name of “Deathwish” online ahead of schedule. You can check out a visualizer for it below. The group’s statement revealing these latest developments read as follows:

“AN IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM NORTHLANE REGARDING ANEMOIA, OUR AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND TOUR, MELBOURNE LISTENING PARTY AND OUR NEW SINGLE “DEATHWISH“.

Due to production delays, the release of Anemoia is moving to November 27, 2026.

Alongside the album delay, Josh has been dealing with significant, rapidly worsening chronic health issues over the past two years and now requires immediate intervention which will prevent him from travelling or performing. With his health and rehabilitation a priority, alongside the delayed release of the record, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our Australia & New Zealand tour to May 2027.

All existing tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled May 2027 dates, which we’ll announce very soon.

Additionally, we have moved our Melbourne Listening Party to November 20. This means attendees will be the first in the world to hear ‘Anemoia‘ in full. All tickets remain valid.

These decisions have been incredibly tough to make. Delivering the full experience to you matters to us, and we don’t take decisions like this lightly. We recognise the impact these changes may have on those who’ve made plans around the original dates, and we appreciate gour patience and understanding.

To be clear, our UK/EU tour with Dayseeker later this year and our North American headline tour early next year will both go ahead as planned.

As a thank you for your continued support, we’re releasing our new single, “Deathwish,” ahead of schedule. It’s available to stream and watch now.”
