Bleed The Sky Welcome New Vocalist Monte Barnard, Recruit Chimaira’s Mark Hunter For New Track “The Parasite”

Bleed The Sky have recruited vocalist Monte Barnard (Emberthrone, ex-Alterbeast, etc.) as their latest frontman. He replaces Rudy Flores who was fired this past July. Barnard can be heard on the band’s newly debuted single “The Parasite“, which features a guest spot from Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter.

Bleed The Sky drummer Austin D’Amond has of course been a member of Chimaira in the past and will be back onstage with them this May. A music video directed by Eric DiCarlo (Lorna Shore, Attila) has been shared for “The Parasite” below and features additional cinematography from Vintersea‘s Karl Whinnery and former Sw1tched vocalist Ben Schigel.

Barnard commented of his new role:

“I’m beyond excited to join forces with the legendary institution that is Bleed The Sky. Their music impacted me as part of a movement that was integral to my musical coming of age and frankly, I’m still pinching myself. The opportunity to create and add to their legacy is one I don’t take lightly.”

Meanwhile, Hunter had the following to say of his cameo:

“I am thrilled to lend my voice to the powerful sound of Bleed The Sky‘s ‘The Parasite‘. It’s an honor to collaborate with such talented musicians and be a part of creating something truly unforgettable.”

As for the song itself, Bleed The Sky offered:

“‘The Parasite‘ is about humanity’s growing addiction to distraction from the ever encroaching horrors that occupy just outside the periphery of our day to day existence. We constantly seek to ween and cope ourselves from the harsh truths we should be addressing head on. By remaining ignorant and distracted, we only tighten the seal on our inevitable doom.”
