Watch Metallica And Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) Jam “Master Of Puppets” Together Backstage At This Year’s ‘Lollapalooza’

Metallica and Eddie Munson finally got to jam “Master Of Puppets” together. As shared by Metallica today (July 29th), Joseph Quinn, who played the lovable metalhead character on season 4 of the Netflix hit series ‘Stranger Things‘, finally got to meet. Quinn joined the band backstage for a partial playthrough of the track in the tuning room yesterday, July 28th, prior to thrash metal legends’ headlining set at this year’s ‘Lollapalooza‘ festival.

Quinn not only got to jam the track backstage with the band, but also was gifted a signed guitar likely familiar to fans of the show. If you’re somehow unaware, ‘Stranger Things‘ creators The Duffer Brothers penned a key scene in the season four finale of the series in which Munson ripped through “Master Of Puppets” on guitar.

The aforementioned siblings wrote the scene with that song in mind and Quinn spent months practicing the song for his performance on the episode, nailing down the fundamentals of the track—sans the solo—which was played by an unidentified guitarist.

During their set-closing performance of “Master Of Puppets” at last night’s ‘Lollapalooza‘, Metallica had scenes of Munson and ‘Stranger Things‘ playing on the screens behind them. Since that season finale aired in early July, the 36-year-old track “Master Of Puppets” has gone to be introduced to a whole new audience of fans, rocketing back up the charts in the process.
