Ex-As I Lay Dying Guitarist Nick Hipa To Join God Forbid For Upcoming Reunion Show

It’s no secret that rhythm guitarist/vocalist Dallas Coyle will not be rejoining NJ metalcore band God Forbid during their reunion show later this year. Back in July of 2021, Coyle‘s brother (and lead guitarist of God Forbid) Doc said of his relationship with Dallas, “…He’s done with me. He had his run and now he’s done.”

A live replacement has now been found for Dallas, with Doc confirming today (July 18th) that ex-As Lay Dying guitarist Nick Hipa would be taking on the rhythm guitar duties at the upcoming show. Hipa has most recently been spending time with his band Mire. Speaking on social media today (July 18th), Doc offered:

“The cat is out of the bag. People have been asking relentlessly about would be playing 2nd guitar for the @godforbidofficial reunion. We’ve been keeping it under wraps but I am proud to announce our good friend @nickhipa ex-As I Lay Dying, as that guitar player. Nick is a ripping player and just great human being. This is going to be so badass. I can’t wait to jam this set in a couple months at @blueridgerockfest”

Hipa added:

“Stoked to be taking the stage with my friends in @godforbidofficial for their Blue Ridge Rock Festival performance this September! They are a talented group of great dudes with a robust catalogue of crushing riffs… I am honored and excited to be included in this special event!”

God Forbid are set to take the stage for the first time in 9 years during the Saturday, September 10th date of this year’s ‘Blue Ridge Rock Festival‘ at the Virginia International Raceway in Alton, VA.
