Marilyn Manson To Turn Himself In Over Concert Spitting Incident

According to a report over at NBC Boston, Marilyn Manson (aka Brian Warner) has agreed to turn himself in to face assault charges stemming from an incident involving a concert videographer back in August of 2019.

During Manson‘s August 18th, 2019 show at the Bank Of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook in Gilford, NH, he was found to have directly spat on a camera being operated by one of the videographers employed by the venue. The camera in question was being projected to the screens behind the stage at the time of the incident. Since then, the videographer decided to press charges, alleging some of the spit made contact with their person.

Gilford, NH authorities issued an arrest warrant for Manson in October of 2019. NBC Boston now report that Manson has agreed to turn himself into the Los Angeles Police to face the charges.

He is expected to be booked and released on bail with the condition set that he have no contact with the victim in question. As of press time, it is unclear the extent of the charges he will be facing, as the two class A misdemeanors carry a fine of up to $2,000 and potential detainment of under a year.

Manson‘s attorney, Howard King, said of the charges this past May:

“It is no secret to anyone who has attended a Marilyn Manson concert that he likes to be provocative on stage, especially in front of a camera. This misdemeanor claim was pursued after we received a demand from a venue videographer for more than $35,000 after a small amount of spit came into contact with their arm. After we asked for evidence of any alleged damages, we never received a reply. This whole claim is ludicrous, but we remain committed to cooperating with authorities, as we have done throughout.”

A new statement issued by Deputy police Chief Kristian Kelley of Gilford, NH said of the case:

“The victim reported the alleged crime to us the day after she had been assaulted, which is contrary to a statement Mr. Warner’s LA-based attorney made regarding the fact the victim had been looking for a $30k payout and when turned down proceeded with filing a police report. That is emphatically false.”

Manson‘s legal hurdles extend well beyond these charges however as he currently faces multiple sexual assault lawsuits (see here and here). Numerous disturbing allegations have also been put forward against him by over a dozen different women, including his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood.

Manson himself has publicly denied several of those allegations thus far.
