Down To Play Livestreamed Show This Month

Down will be partaking in a livestreamed performance on August 22nd. The band’s manager Dave “Snake” Sabo (of Skid Row) broke the news on yesterday’s (August 02nd) episode of ‘Tribute Wars‘ (see below). He said of that:

“I’ve been managing since 2006, which seems like a lifetime ago, and it kind of is. I’ve been managing the band Down since then — Philip Anselmo and Pepper Keenan and Kirk Windstein — and that, for a long time, took up a lot of our time. But they’ve taken a bit of a hiatus. They’re actually gonna be doing one of those streaming live shows August 22nd. So we’ll have more information out online as that progresses, as we get closer.”

Down took a hiatus after Anselmo‘s infamous ‘white power’ incident back in 2016. Anselmo would later go on to issue numerous apologies and explanations for his actions, most recently referring to the incident as ‘off-color joke’.

Since that incident the band reunited with Kirk Windstein and were booked to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1995 debut album “NOLA” this year until COVID-19 concerns forced them to postpone.
