Evanescence To Rework Their Songs For An Orchestra With New Album “Synthesis”

Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee has officially announced the band’s new album “Synthesis” in the below video. The effort won’t consist of all new material however. Instead The band are planning to go over various tracks from their back catalogue and reinventing them with a full orchestra and elements of electronica in mind. As Lee stated:

“We’re taking our music, stripping off the big distorted guitars, stripping off the rock drums and replacing it with full orchestration and a completely synthetic world of beats and sounds.”

Two new songs will also be featured on the effort with plans to tour behind it, complete with a full orchestra, being made for this fall. Lee was quick to point out that the album is not a “remix album’ but rather a ground up reworking of various songs from their catalogue.
