Of Mice & Men frontman Austin Carlile has given an update on the recent first of several surgeries he has to undergo to correct three major spinal tears. Carlile suffers from the genetic disorder Marfan Syndrome, which has continues to impact his life on a daily basis with various medical ailments, these latest being a symptom of it. The current spinal tears he is suffering at the base of neck/back of head, mid-back between his 11 & 12 vertebrae due to a ‘bludgeoned’ disc, and his lower back just above his tailbone. Complications from them saw him hospitalized since cancelling the band’s UK/European tour earlier this month.
