Members Of Meshuggah Have Heard Demos Of New Tool Music

0

Meshuggah guitarist Mårten Hagström & drummer Tomas Haake are among the rare few humans to walk this earth to have heard demos of Tool‘s ever-anticipated followup to 2006’s “10,000 Days“. In a recent interview with Rocksverige.se, Hagström was asked if he was still in contact with Tool, having toured with them in Meshuggah in the past. His response was in his native Swedish tongue, so his below reply is a bit garbled via Google Translate:

“Yes, and we have contact with them quite often. I do not know what’s up with their record, but we say this … this is the typical tool and they’re the best band and they are the only band that is slower than we are. I know that Tomas was talking to Danny Carey just preform weekend when he was over in the States and then it was apparently like “Well, it will probably take a while.” Last year I was, and Tomas and visited Danny in his house, when he was not too long ago had become a father, and when he played the demo material from the upcoming album.

It was the demos, but it’s the best I’ve heard of Tool can I say. Then we of course like “Shit, then it will probably safe next year!” And it was a little hopeful, but now it does not seem so long. We will talk to them in a few weeks when we play with them and Slayer in Sacramento, so then I can pump them a little. (laughs)”

The wait for Meshuggah‘s new album will be considerably shorter than Tool‘s, as they will return to stores this coming Friday, October 07th, with “The Violent Sleep Of Reason“.
