A report over at Hellbound.ca has word on another new project Philip H. Anselmo (Down, ex-Pantera, etc.) is involved in. This one is said to be a more death metal leaning affair and has been christened Metraton Nganga. Superjoint drummer Joey Gonzalez joins him in that outfit, which the site describes as being somewhat similar to Immolation and Incantation. As for the name, while only speculation, ‘Metraton’ could refer to the angel of the same name in ‘The Divine Comedy‘, that influenced the world. ‘Nganga’ on the other hand is most commonly known as a Bantu term for a healer or a witch doctor.
In addition to Down and Superjoint, Anselmo has been keeping himself busy with new projects these days as he also has another group in the works named Scour, which includes members of Pig Destroyer, Cattle Decapitation and more.
