Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oliver Sykes‘ Drop Dead Clothing looks to have run afoul of Odd Future kingpin Tyler, The Creator. The clothing company are offering their ‘Skip School’ shirt which features the words “kill people burn shit skip school”. These clearly take inspiration from the chorus of “Radicals” off of Tyler, The Creator‘s 2011 release “Goblin“, which were “kill people burn shit fuck school”.
Speaking through his Twitter earlier today, Tyler posted:
“THAT KID WITH RADICAL LYRICS ON HIS SHIRT IS SOME TUMBLR FAG FUCK HIM DONT USE MY SHIT PUSSY”
You can see the shirt (and photo) in question below and find it at Dropdead.co.
Update – December 03rd 12:09pm:
Readers have pointed out that fans of other groups have been vocal regarding some of Drop Dead‘s recent merch offerings.
In particular there is a “suck-a-fuck” shirt being offered which is rather similar to Attila frontman Chris Fronzak‘s own various suck my fuck” merch“. There’s also the Destroy Yourself shirt, which lifts the lyrics “destroy yourself, see who gives a fuck” from Lamb Of God‘s “Laid To Rest“.
Update – December 03rd 7:31pm:
Bring Me The Horizon‘s Oliver Sykes has hit up his Twitter to address the above complaints, in particular being called out by Tyler, The Creator, whose insult he retweeted.
Of that Sykes tweeted:
“I just thought skip school had more charm to it. You could try watchdogs but I think they have bigger fish to fry”
“Who gives a shit. Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everyone I’ve ever known & everything I have ever seen.”
