Foo Fighters were once again the musical guest on last night’s (May 13th) episode of ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert‘. While the multi-platinum alternative rockers played that show earlier this month, this latest airing was more ceremonial in nature.
With ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert‘ set to conclude on May 21st, the Foo Fighters opted to pay tribute to their long history with the show. Rather than focus on songs from their newly released album “Your Favorite Toy“, this latest airing featured a medley of “This Is A Call” and the band’s definitive track “Everlong“.
The group’s first-ever late night TV performance aired on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman‘ back in 1995, with the band running through the lead single from their self-titled debut album, “This Is A Call“. As for “Everlong“, the Foo Fighters were the last musical guest under David Letterman‘s reign of the late night talk show. During that appearance they performed that very song at the personal request of Letterman, who had proclaimed that track as one of his favorite songs.
