Work on Snot‘s first new studio album in decades has thus far resulted in eight new songs. Reinvigorated by the 2024 addition of vocalist Andy Knapp to their roster, the funky nü-metal punks have been hammering out new songs for their big comeback under producer/mixer/engineer Chris Collier (Korn, Prong). In an interview with SWOMP conducted at last month’s ‘Sick New Vegas‘ festival in Las Vegas, NV, guitarist Mikey Doling shared his excitement for this proper follow-up to 1997’s “Get Some“:
“We are working a brand new album right now. It’s our first album since ‘Get Some‘. It’s literally gonna be 30 years later, and we’re really pumped on it. We’re working with Chris Collier. [He’s] a great producer. He’s done a couple of Korn records, some Prong and a lot of bands we love.”
“We’re eight songs into the album right now, so we’re real close to completing it. And it’s gonna come out, and we’re fucking stoked on it.”
Technically Snot did release a sophomore album in 2000 by the name of “Strait Up“. However, that effort served as a guest-filled tribute to the band’s late vocalist Lynn Strait, who died in a car accident in 1998. That record did however wind up utilizing song ideas the group had been putting together for a planned follow-up to “Get Some“.
