British alternative rock/hip hop artist YUNGBLUD racked up several nominations at the upcoming 2026 GRAMMY Awards, including a nod for ‘Best Rock Performance’ for his live tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne. During this past July’s ‘Back To Be Beginning‘ live sendoff for Osbourne and Black Sabbath, YUNGBLUD fronted a stirring rendition of the 1972 Black Sabbath single “Changes“.

While that song would later be revisited in 1993 by Ozzy with his daughter Kelly in 2003, it also surprisingly found new life in 2013 via a soul cover done the late Charles Bradley. Despite being fairly well known inclusion in their catalog thanks to the latter cover, the song was rarely played live by Sabbath or Osbourne.

YUNGBLUD‘s live rendition at that final show for Ozzy saw him joined by Anthrax bassist Frank Bello, Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, Sleep Token‘s II on drums and Adam Wakeman (Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath) on keys and was listed by many as a standout moment from the show.

Back in 2022, YUNGBLUD was taken under the wing of the Osbourne clan as a protégé of sorts, with Ozzy and his wife Sharon appearing in YUNGBLUD‘s “The Funeral” video. Both YUNGBLUD and Ozzy also shared an emotional exchange backstage at ‘Back To The Beginning when he bestowed Ozzy with a gift (see below.)

Thus, upon learning of YUNGBLUD‘s GRAMMY nomination for the aforementioned Sabbath cover, it’s not shocking that he received a nod from Sharon on social media. She stated, yesterday, November 08th, “I’m so proud of you. It’s just amazing and I know Ozzy is smiling down at you. Love you always, Sharon

YUNGBLUD himself also took to social media over the weekend to speak of the honor, offering:

“They’ve nominated “CHANGES at Villa Park” for best rock performance at the Grammys, “IDOLS” for best rock album and “ZOMBIE” for best rock song. Thank you to you and your family for giving me the opportunity you did and your stage to show the world what I could do. Thank you for teaching us all how to dream and never compromise. From one madman from England to another I love you OZ and I hope one day I can show you how much.”
