Malevolence‘s recent music video for their track “Salt The Wound” has run afoul of National Trust, a long-running organization dedicated to preserving properties in the UK of significant beauty of historic interest. According to the British groove metalcore outfit, the aforementioned organization, which was formed in the late 1800s, took issue with portions of the video apparently being filmed on property the group weren’t permitted for. Malevolence stated:
“SADLY OUR LATEST VIDEO FOR ‘SALT THE WOUND‘ HAS BEEN FORCIBLY REMOVED FROM THE NUCLEAR BLAST YOUTUBE CHANNEL DUE TO THREATS OF LEGAL ACTION MADE BY @nationaltrust
APPARENTLY PRETENDING TO PLAY THE GUITAR FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS ON A PUBLIC PATH THAT THOUSANDS OF TOURISTS WALK UP EVERY SINGLE DAY IS A CRIMINAL OFFENCE WORTH PURSUING.
ATTEMPTS WERE MADE BY OUR TEAM TO FIND A RESOLUTION FOR THE SITUATION, WHICH HAVE BEEN ENTIRELY REFUSED.
THE VIDEO IS A CELEBRATION OF WHERE WE COME FROM AND WE’RE PROUD OF WHAT WE MADE.
FORTUNATELY…. SOMEONE HAS ANONYMOUSLY UPLOADED A VERSION TO BACK TO YOUTUBE..
YOU CAN WATCH IT NOW AT THE LINK IN OUR BIO
THANK YOU ALWAYS FOR THE SUPPORT,
LOVE MALEV”
The aforementioned music video debuted on May 21st. That song is part of the band’s forthcoming album “Where Only The Truth Is Spoken“, due out June 20th on Nuclear Blast. The reuploaded of the video mentioned above was shared by a user called “Trust Issues”.
