Actress, etc. Vera Farmiga (‘The Conjuring‘, ‘The Departed‘, etc.) has been fronting her new band The Yagas as of late, with the outfit having issued two singles thus far. Farmiga is joined in that band by her husband, keyboardist Renn Hawkey of Deadsy fame. Also involved are guitarist Mark Visconti, bassist Mike Davis and drummer Jason Bowman.
Newly arriving from the outfit is the song “She’s Walking Down“, which features the below music video directed by Farmiga herself. She elaborated on that:
“I’d been reading a lot about child trafficking, which eventually entered my dreamscape. As a way to work out my fear, I decided to write a song where the protagonist from those nightmares turns the tables on her abuser and finally puts an end to everything.”
Farmiga is no stranger to heavier music, having previously covered songs by Slipknot, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden in a live setting. The Yagas are scheduled to make their live debut at the Assembly in Kingston, NY on March 08th with Rosegold and The Hedons opening.
