The upcoming all-star tribute to Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne has had a pair of esteemed drummers added in Tool‘s Danny Carey and Red Hot Chili PeppersChad Smith. The latter is an obvious participant, given his studio work on recent Ozzy‘s latest albums.

Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello will be directing that musical collective, which will help sendoff both Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne for what is expected to be their respective final live shows.

That event is due to take place at Villa Park in Black Sabbath hometown of Birmingham, UK. In addition to a final set from Black Sabbath, complete with returning original drummer Bill Ward, and an abbreviated solo live performance from Ozzy, will be sets from:

Ozzy Osbourne
Metallica
Slayer
Pantera
Gojira
Halestorm
Alice In Chains
Lamb Of God
Anthrax
Mastodon

The aforementioned all-star jam will feature just as stacked of a roster, with the below artists confirmed thus far:

Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins)
David Draiman (Disturbed)
Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses)
Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit)
Lzzy Hale (Halestorm)
Jake E. Lee (Red Dragon Cartel, ex-Ozzy Osbourne)
Jonathan Davis (Korn)
KK Downing (KK’s Priest, ex-Judas Priest)
Mike Bordin (Faith No More/Ozzy Osbourne)
Papa V Perpetua (Ghost)
Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, etc.)
Sammy Hagar (ex-Van Halen)
Slash (Guns N’ Roses)
II (Sleep Token)
Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine)
Wolfgang Van Halen (Mammoth WVH, ex-Van Halen)

Ozzy‘s wife Sharon has newly spoken to NME about Morello‘s involvement with that set:

“[Tom] is so knowledgeable on all different genres of music, but especially Sabbath. He’s really passionate about everything he does and is such a great mate. He volunteered and the stuff that he’s managing to put together has been amazing. He’s going to take care of all the different bands that are playing together and arranging who does what song. It’s a huge undertaking, and he can manage it all.”

She continued:

“It starts at noon, then you’re going to see one icon playing with another icon, doing a Sabbath song and one or two of their own songs, and people playing with each other that you never you’d see.”

Tom Morello is going to play with the drummer from Tool [Danny Carey] and they’re going to have Billy Corgan with them – they’re all from Chicago so they’re all doing their bit.

Then you’ll see Slash and Duff [McKagan] and whoever they choose to play with. David Draiman [Disturbed] is going to come up and sing, Jonathan [Davis] from Korn is going to be here and he could be playing with [Red Hot Chili Peppers’] Chad Smith or whoever! Alice In Chains are coming and they’re playing as the band.”

Speaking on whether or not she’d rather the show have a more traditional approach, Osbourne replied, “No, this is a celebration – of the genre and the pioneers who started it and passed it on to all these bands. Usually this thing is done when you’re dead – so it’s nice that these guys can be alive to be appreciated!”

Further guests for the aforementioned all-star jam session are still pending. Tickets for the concert will be available Friday, February 14th at 10:00am GMT.
