Rumors abound that guitarist Marc Rizzo has exited Soulfly, a band he has been a member of since 2003. Public speculation began to pick up steam yesterday, August 05th when it was announced that Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares will be taking on the lead guitars in Soulfly for their immediate touring.
More recently Rizzo has been investing time in his projects Hail The Horns, which finds him on guitars alongside Tony Campos (Static-X, Fear Factory, ex-Soulfly) on vocals/bass and Christian “Opus” Lawrence (Dead By Wednesday and Ellefson) on drums. That trio recently debuted the below cover of KISS‘ “God Of Thunder“.
He’s also been focusing on Revenge Beast, which in addition to him on guitars, includes vocalist Jay Decay, bassist Brendan MacSahne and drummer Doug Gussio. Neither Rizzo nor Soulfly appear to have publicly addressed the rumored split, but Rizzo is said to have issued the following reply to a fan who asked about his status in Soulfly:
“I’m super excited to move forward with my solo project, Hail The Horns, and Revenge Beast!!! These last few years have been too much of a stress on my life and being home this past year focusing on my projects has been super healthy for me. Much love to all the fans and I can’t wait to hang with you guys after my shows and talk more in person!”
Cazares himself was also asked by several fans about Rizzo‘s status in the band, he replied:

Outside of the aforementioned projects, Rizzo will soon be out touring under his solo project configuration alongside WhiskeyDick and has the following dates booked:
