Fear Factory‘s forthcoming eleventh studio album marks another milestone for the gold-certified industrial metal band outside the obvious. As clarified on social media overnight by the band’s guitarist Dino Cazares, this next full-length marks the first time the group’s bassist Tony Campos (also of Static-X) has laid down all of the bass tracks on any of Fear Factory‘s albums.
While Campos has been with Fear Factory since 2015, it was Cazares who had helmed the lion’s share of the low end duties, just as he had on a number of past recordings from the band.
Cazares stated:
“Besides recently getting behind the drum kit again after many years, and before anyone assumes otherwise ,I’ve also recorded all the bass tracks on Soul of a New Machine, Demanufacture, Mechanize, The Industrialist, Genexus, and Aggression Continuum. In fact, I’ve recorded bass on more Fear Factory albums than any of our previous bassists.
On the new Fear Factory record, Tony Campos handled all the bass tracks, marking the first time he’s recorded bass on a Fear Factory album.”
Of course, other firsts tied into this pending new album include it being their first without vocalist Burton C. Bell, and their first with his replacement Milo Silvestro. It also marks their first with drummer Pete Webber on drums, who took over that role back in 2023.
Release details for that outing are pending thus far, with the lead single “Robotocist” having debuted online last month. As for Cazares‘ comments about getting back behind the drum kit, refer to this past post.
