It’s no secret that Fear Factory have unfortunately had a long history of bitter internal disputes, much of which played out before the courts. Thus, it wasn’t entirely surprising back in 2025, when the band’s former bassist/vocalist Christian Olde Wolbers announced his new project, Angst Fabrik. Given that the German to English translation of that name amounts to ‘Fear Factory’, many have assumed that Wolbers is seeking to launch a rival outfit of sorts.
This past Monday, September 07th, saw Wolbers further that perception, having showcased footage of ex-Fear Factory drummer Raymond Herrera back behind the drum kit for the first time in some 16 years in a studio setting. Herrera is understood to have been laying down drums for new music from Angst Fabrik.
As it stands now, guitarist Dino Cazares legally owns the rights to Fear Factory, and has since rebuilt the band in recent years, following the bitter departure of vocalist Burton C. Bell back in 2020. For his part, Bell seemingly distanced himself from Angst Fabrik back in the spring of 2025. Cazares also previously pointed out the irony of the chosen moniker of Wolbers‘ new band.
Now in a new video, Cazares has spoofed the aforementioned reveal of Herrera behind the kit. Cazares‘ clip can be found below and was captioned:

Fear Factory are gearing up to release their eleventh studio album, which will be their first since parting ways with Bell and replacing him with Milo Silvestro. The first single from that outing, “Roboticist“, debuted online on late last month.
