Ministry frontman Al Jourgesen might upset a few metal fans with his new Surgical Meth Machine track, “Unlistenable“. That band’s debut album is due tomorrow, April 15th, and is presently streaming here. On the aforementioned song, which is more skit than anything else, Jourgensen is asked by his bandmate Sam D’Ambruoso for his opinion on various bands and seemingly has no problem sharing them.
He proceeds to shutdown each of D’Ambruoso‘s suggestions: Iron Maiden (“they’re fucking unlistenable”,) Megadeth (“they fucking suck”,) Lamb Of God (‘laughter’) and on and on. While the initial response might be offense, it soon becomes clear that Jourgensen is just stirring the pot, eventually making jokes at his own expense, before leading up to the punchline, which I won’t spoil here.
