You can now strap in for another track from Godflesh‘s penultimate studio album, “Decay“. The influential industrial metal outfit have just launched the new single “Master And Slave” from that effort, which Relapse Records have set a September 25th release date for. The upcoming end of Godflesh as we know it was precipitated by abdominal injury and the requisite surgery for it suffered by frontman, guitarist, etc. Justin K. Broadrick, which has prevented him from being able to scream as the band demands.
One further studio album from the outfit is expected out in the new year, with recording sessions for it to be held this November/December. It tentatively carries the title of “The End“. After its release, there will likely be some remix/dub albums to follow, but Godflesh as a live/recording entity will cease to be. Broadrick however does have another industrial project up his sleeves dubbed White Light District which he will be launching as Godflesh begin to see their way out.
