Kerrang! recently polled an assorted roster of artists for their thoughts on what track they feel serves as ‘the ultimate heavy metal anthem’. Once again taking advantage of the close proximity of countless bands about amid the summer festival season, Kerrang! got the following answers out those mingling about backstage at the annual ‘Download Festival‘ in Donington, UK.

Pendulum‘s Gaz McGrillen & Peredur ap Gwynedd couldn’t decide on a single track, offering up Meshuggah‘s “Bleed“, Metallica‘s “Battery” and Psycroptic‘s “Lacertine Forest“. Trivium vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy meanwhile offered up a self-proclaimed “cheeky” response, selecting his own band’s song “Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr“.
This latest video is a bit of a double dip for Kerrang!, given that they also polled many of the same artists for their choices for ‘‘The Best Nü-Metal Album Of All-Time’’ at the aforementioned festival.
