Canadian nü-metal/hard rock outfit Finger Eleven have managed to rack up an impressive new sales/streaming accolade in the United States. “Paralyzer“, the hit lead single from the band’s gold-certified 2007 album “Them vs. You vs. Me“, has just hit 6x platinum status, per the RIAA. First shipped out to radio and such back in March of 2007, that single would go on to earn gold status in the U.S. by December of that year. By February of 2008, it was awarded platinum status.
After going 2x platinum in June of 2008, no further certifications were handed down by the RIAA for the track until this past Thursday, June 25th, when the track was officially declared 6x platinum. Last November saw Finger Eleven release “Last Night On Earth“, their first new studio album in over a decade. They’ve continued to tour on it since.
*A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit. 150 streams of a song also equate to a track-equivalent unit.
