Nate Bergman of reggae rockers Lionize and more, and Emma Boster, vocalist of metalcore outfit Dying Wish, have united for a folky Americana cover of Death Cab For Cutie‘s 2005 single “I Will Follow You Into The Dark“, According to Bergman, he and Boster connected at a pair of funerals for a mutual friend. There’s more to come as well, as he noted they’ve also been working on a project they’re not quite ready to fully announce just yet. He explained:
“After a chance encounter at two memorial services in New York and Los Angeles for a mutual friend, I figured out that Emma and her husband [Jeremy DePoyster of The Devil Wears Prada] were my neighbors in Nashville and that we had a plethora of personal and professional friendships that we shared. We are actively working on a project that I can’t speak about quite yet, but the end result was beyond my wildest dreams.
Emma is a powerful vocalist, writer, and consummate creative mind in the studio. So after hours of laughter, singing, and our shared love of a certain wave of emo and folk, covering Death Cab for Cutie’s ‘I Will Follow You Into The Dark’ just made sense. A sort of amuse-bouche to a very special piece of art we constructed together.”
